My latest photo challenge theme was water. Easy, I thought. But oh, was I wrong!
The shot I finally chose is one of many taken at four different locations on the same dark, rainy day last week.
I believe this photo evokes the moodiness and restlessness felt by many after a few days of rainy weather, represented by the perpetual motion of the waves. Living on the Sunshine Coast, we are pretty spoilt and really miss the sun when we don’t see it for a few days.
I choose to focus my attention on the joyful leaping visible in the central section of the second small foregrounded wave, seemingly oblivious to the larger, more powerful waves crashing to its rear and the unforgiving rocks awaiting just ahead.
That happy little wave is a reminder for us to make the most of the moment and find joy in the here and now, whatever that holds.
“A joyful heart is good medicine.” – Proverbs chapter 17, verse 22a
“Joy is a decision, a really brave one about how you are going to respond to life.” – Wess Stafford Too Small To Ignore.
Can you find joy in everyday moments amidst the ups and downs, amongst the crashing waves of life’s storms?
Today, I choose joy.
